Countries where our products are manufactured

All PrimaDog products are designed in Finland. Wheat-free Meals and Sausages for Dogs are manufactured in our Estonian factory. Grain-free Mini Meals and Dry Dog Foods come from our factory in the Czech Republic. Own dog food factories in Estonia and the Czech Republic allow us to use local ingredients, which reduces transport emissions and helps us to maintain the consistent quality of our products.

We are continually increasing our European dog treat selection. Grain-free and meaty PrimaDog Northern Treats are made in our Estonian factory, and Wild Bites grain-free treats come from our Czech factory.

Our selection of chew bones Rough Chews are manufactured in our own factory in Poland. Meaty chew bones, Meaty Treats and Training Snacks are manufactured in carefully selected Chinese factories with traceable and certified production systems such as the Quality Management System ISO 9001 and the HACCP management system. We audit the factories and suppliers regularly.

Our company has a strict self-monitoring system, and every PrimaDog product has their own product specification and quality specification. We also monitor the consistent quality of our products and possible deviations through laboratory testing. National Food Safety Authorities supervise dog food production on their part. When designing our dog food products, we follow the guidelines set by Fediaf, the European Pet Food Industry Federation.

Where our ingredients come from

We produce PrimaDog dry foods and wet foods mostly from European ingredients.

Dry dog foods

The chicken used in dry dog food is from the Czech Republic. Depending on availability the turkey comes from ether the Czech Republic or Germany. Same applies with the duck, which we import sometimes from Australia as well. The fish is from Norway, Germany or Scotland, and the deer is from the Czech Republic or Italy. To secure availability we import the lamb used in dry foods from New Zealand.

Wet dog foods

The ingredients in Wheat-free Meals and Sausages for Dogs are mainly from Nordic or Baltic countries. Only the turkey is Polish, and besides Denmark the lamb is delivered from New Zealand when needed.

Grain-free Mini Meals are produced with Romanian lamb and Czech chicken. Other ingredients we try to find nearby the Czech factory, but if the availability changes the fish can also be from Denmark or Norway, the duck might come from Germany and the deer from Italy.

Dog Treats

Also, the Northern Treats and Wild Bites are mostly made with European ingredients. Only the lamb may come from further afield if we need to import it from New Zealand.

All PrimaDog packages can be recycled. If you can rinse or wipe the package clean easily, you can recycle it with waste plastics. Otherwise, the package belongs to energy or mixed waste.
